PowerPoint Effects And Animation
The PowerPoint Animatrix
Neo, The PowerPoint Animatrix Is Real!
-
Begin a blank project and choose a "Title Slide".

-
Write "Drawing And Animating Stuff" as your title. As your subtitle, write
"By" followed by your name. Next, set Your background color and gradient,
as you did in the last tutorial
.

-
Look for the Drawing Toolbar in PowerPoint. It looks like
the picture below:

If you do not see the above picture, make sure that the
Drawing Toolbar is visible. From the main menu, select
View->Toolbars and click on
Drawing if it does not have a "check"
by it.

-
Insert a new Bulleted slide and write "Things
You Can Draw" as the title. Write "You can draw circles and ovals. To
draw a perfect circle, press and hold the "Shift" key while dragging your
mouse to resize your drawing". Next draw a circle by selecting an oval from the
Drawing Toolbar.

-
Click on the circle that you've just created with your left mouse button to select it.
Next, click again with your right mouse button. Select
Custom Animation from the pop-up menu.

-
In the Custom Animation dialog, click on the
Effects tab. Next, choose "Fly" from the
drop-down menu in the upper left corner of the
Entry Animation And Sound section.

-
In the drop-down menu next to the one that you just modified, choose
"From Right". This will make the circle fly in from the right side of
the slide during the presentation.

-
Click on the Order & Timing tab. On the
right side you will see the Start Animation section.
Choose Automatically. This will make the animation occur
without you having to click on your mouse.

-
Insert a Duplicate slide and erase the writing from the
bulletted list. Replace the writing with: "You can draw squares and rectangles.
Press and hold the "Shift" key to make squares. Otherwise, you'll make a
rectangle." Delete the circle by selecting it with your left mouse button and
pressing the "Delete" key. Now draw a rectangle where the circle was.

-
Right click on the rectangle you've created and choose
Format Auto Shape.

-
In the Format Auto Shape dialog,
click on the Colors And Lines tab.
Then choose No Fill from the
Color drop-down menu. Next click on
OK. You would do something like this if
you wanted to place words inside of the box. Select any type of animation
for the box.

-
Insert a new Blank slide. Next, add Word-Art
to the slide by clicking on the tipped-over "A" on the
Drawing Toolbar. Choose the Word-Art that
suits you and type "The End" in the space provided.

-
Select the newly created Word-Art and resize it using the small boxes surrounding
the Word-Art. Select any type of animation for the Word-Art.

-
Save the file as
mynameeffects.ppt, where
myname is replaced with
YOUR ACTUAL NAME. Make sure that THE FILE IS ONE WORD.
