Welcome to Geometry Honors. This is a college preparatory course that fulfills 1
year of the high school mathematics graduation requirement as well as the UC
a-g requirements. Topics include sets, real numbers, lines, planes, angles,
triangles, congruence, proofs, geometric inequalities, perpendicular lines
and planes in space, parallel lines and planes, polygonal regions and their
areas, similarity, plane coordinate geometry, circles, spheres, sectors,
trigonometry, symmetry, transformations, vectors, and solids. Emphasis will
be on developing basic analytical and theoretical skills, and curriculum
will be related to SAT preparation.

Classroom/Homework
- Homework is given every day, and is usually due the next day.
- Late work is not accepted.
- Notebooks are collected at least twice per week.
- Notes should be taken in pencil in a wireless composition book.
- Each checked assignment is worth up to 5 points, unless stated otherwise.

Scale: Perfect=5 pts. Average=3 pts. Passable=2 pts.
Tests
- Tests and quizzes are given every Friday to measure student understanding of this subject.
- Make-up tests will be given on Mondays during class or Fridays after school for students who have an excused absence.
Extra Credit/Projects
- Extra credit and projects may be given in class from time to time.
These can boost your grade by as much as 3%. Extra credit work is not
guaranteed to be given by the instructor.
